I am Barbara Wildman. I am 75 years old and my husband passed away 2 years ago. I now live alone with my cat in Manchester, New Hampshire. I am a mother of one living son, grandmother of 5 and a great grandmother of 7. I worked from the age of 16 until I was 62 when I retired. I worked at Home Insurance Company as an Assistant Manager in New York and Manger in New Hampshire. I have been collecting Social Security since the age of 62 and I am still on it. Social Security helps me to pay my rent, bills and get food to live on but I barely make it through the month because I also have medical expenses. It saddens me when I can’t buy my grandkids and great grandkids gifts on their birthdays and Christmas because I don’t have enough money.
With the level of attacks on Social Security from our leaders, as a grandmother and great grandmother, I worry that my grandkids and great grand kids will not even have much of a retirement security as I have had.
