I am a 36-year-old African American with five children and 12 grandkids. I have lived in New Hampshire for 20 years, and I have been working since I was 14 years old. I used to work in the healthcare field which was hard work and has affected my health.
I’ve been on Social Security for more than five years due to heart issues. I have a heart pacer and I am on oxygen. My heart condition has not prevented me from being a contributor in my community. In fact, I am an active member of the Local Resident Council, and I volunteer my time helping to plan activities for children in my community.
If the government cuts 20% of my SSDI, it would affect my life in a drastic way because I would not have the ability to pay my bills and put food on the table for my family.
